Dreamsilk's handmade silk duvets are created for those seeking ultimate temperature regulation and uncompromising night's rest. The duvet is defined by its filling of 100% long-fibre mulberry silk, which has been carefully laid out by hand, layer by layer, completely without machine-spun batting. This is a duvet where nature's most unsurpassed material meets traditional craftsmanship to create a dry, healthy, and perfectly balanced sleeping climate.

Choose between three temperature profiles:

Ultra-light: 1.0 kg of pure silk. Our feather-light summer duvet for the warmest months of the year or for those who tend to sleep very warm.

Light: 1.5 kg of pure silk. Suitable for warm bedrooms (approx. 22°C) or for those who often get warm during the night.

Medium / All-season: 2.0 kg of pure silk. For those who tend to sleep cool to normal warm.

Material & Unique Details

Size: 150 x 210 cm.

Filling: 100% natural, long-fibre mulberry silk (Grade 3A). The silk is completely pure and sourced from the most protected part of the cocoon, free from external contaminants.

Outer fabric: Cover in 100% tightly woven cotton cambric of the highest quality, which keeps the filling in place and provides a crisp, luxurious feel.

Construction: Genuine craftsmanship where the silk is stretched out and laid in thin layers instead of pre-made, machine-spun batting. This prevents the filling from clumping, shifting, or creating cold spots.

Properties: Functions as nature's own "Gore-Tex". Silk has an unsurpassed ability to breathe, wick away moisture, and adapt to your body temperature.

Quality Guarantee & History

Ethical and pure production: The silk is extracted entirely naturally, traditionally, and by hand, without the use of chemicals or harsh bleaches. No unethical animal handling occurs.

Investment for generations: Thanks to the natural tensile strength and elasticity of the long silk fibres, the duvets are extremely durable. In China, it is a tradition for these handcrafted duvets to be passed down through generations.

Hypoallergenic foundation: The silk thread is completely smooth and contains the natural protein sericin, which causes the duvet to repel dust, dust mites, and dirt. This minimizes allergy risks and provides a cleaner sleeping environment.

Care Instructions

A handmade silk duvet requires minimal but specific maintenance to retain its unique properties for decades.

Never machine wash: Since the silk batting is laid by hand in thin, delicate layers, the duvet must under no circumstances be machine washed or tumble dried. Water masses and spinning will destroy the handcrafted structure and cause the silk fibres to felt together.

Always air in the shade: Silk is naturally self-cleaning and transports away odours on its own. Air the duvet outdoors approximately 1–2 times a month. Important: Always hang it in the shade. Direct sunlight and UV rays break down the amino acids in silk, making the fibres brittle and reducing their lifespan.

Spot treatment without enzymes: If the cotton cambric outer fabric gets a stain, only spot clean the affected area. Use a damp cloth and a mild, enzyme-free detergent (e.g., silk soap, gall soap, or delicate wash for silk/wool). Regular detergent contains enzymes that break down silk's natural proteins.

Storage: If the duvet is to be stored for a season, keep it in a breathable fabric bag (never in tight plastic, as silk needs to breathe). Do not place heavy objects on top of the duvet during storage, as this can permanently compress the hand-laid silk layers.
